A Cape Town couple witnessed first-hand the heart-breaking human suffering and utter desperation left in the wake of Burma's (also known as Myanmar) deadly cyclone earlier this month.
Philip and Sandra Engelman, who moved from Britain to South Africa in 1991, decided to celebrate their 20th anniversary by travelling to the Southeast Asian country.
Yet, instead of the usual holiday experiences they have enjoyed during their many trips, the Rosebank couple are left with haunting images of the storm-ravaged city of Rangoon, Burma's capital.
Screaming babies clutching their mothers while they sought shelter at railway stations. Endless queues of people waiting for water.
