Traffic police refuse to return unlincenced motorcycle

Burmese junta authorities in Myitkyina Township, the capital of Kachin state have refused to return confiscated unlicensed Chinese motorcycles to residents in keeping with the promise it made, said a sources.
police had promised to return the two wheelers after the festival. But the motorcycles are still being kept at their office, a resident in Myitkyina told KNG.

"I have seen over 100 motorcycles kept in the traffic police office. They had said they will give them back after the festival", said an eyewitness.

"Now the traffic police are asking for money to return the confiscated motorcycles to residents. The police are just asking for money even while promising to return the two wheelers," he added.

The traffic police confiscated many unlicensed motorcycles in town. Residents who own Chinese motorcycles cannot apply for a license.
